Play Therapy (In Person Only - Central Calgary)
- Krystle Smith MSW, RSW
Children communicate through play long before they have the words to explain their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Play therapy provides a safe and supportive space where children can express themselves, process challenges, and build confidence and resilience.

Using Child-Centred Play Therapy, art, and sand tray, Krystle follow the child's lead while providing a therapeutic relationship grounded in safety, acceptance, and connection.
Her approach is relational, attachment-focused, and informed by Polyvagal Theory, recognizing that healing happens when children feel safe, understood, and empowered.
Krystle has a particular interest in supporting children experiencing grief and loss, including the death of a loved one, separation and divorce, significant life changes, and other experiences that impact a child's sense of safety and belonging.

Play therapy may also support children experiencing:
• Emotional regulation challenges
• Anxiety and worry
• Trauma and adverse experiences
• Exposure to family violence
• High-conflict family separation
• Neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism
• Behavioural challenges at home or school
• Social and relationship difficulties
• Life transitions and adjustment challenges
Sessions are available in a dedicated play therapy space designed to support children's emotional expression, creativity, and healing.
